History

The 100% Dutch company Gentiluomo International was founded in 1993 in Amsterdam. From the beginning its core business was excellent shirt making for individual men. Key was the strong believe in the ability to deliver pure, premium fashion to retailers and consumers based on Italian flavor, creativity and credibility.

From 1995 a complete collection was developed and a selection of knits, jerseys and accessories was added to the existing Gentiluomo shirt line.

In 1997 there was the introduction of the Tailor made program proposing exclusive, high quality Italian shirts on demand. Gradually the Gentiluomo label became more renowned and was sold at major retailers allover the Benelux.

The beginning of a new Millennium in 2000 convinced Gentiluomo to start fresh with a new logo and corporate brand identity.
In 2003 the company moved to a newly build, modern headquarter in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost and introduced formal tailoring to the collection. Only one year later a new brand -Genti- was developed and introduced to the world of fashion.

Sportive fever brought Piet Zoomers, Gentiluomo and the Dutch Olympic Team together into a successful cooperation for Turin 2006.  For the Dutch National Soccer Team, Official Supplier Piet Zoomers joined up with the creative team of Gentiluomo to dress and impress at the World Cup 2006 in Germany, the European Cup 2008 in Switzerland / Austria, the World Cup 2010 in South Africa and most recently the European Cup 2012 in Poland / Ukraine.

January 2010 a new ‘Gentiluomo Gold’ line was introduced to offer the top end of the market a superior product in limited edition.

July 2011 marked the ‘birth’ of another new line. ‘Gentiluomo Vintage’ was presented as a fashion reaction to the revalue of all things precious from the past.

November 2011 Gentiluomo headquarters changed again from the city of Amsterdam to the always picturesque surroundings of Noord-Brabant. A deliberate move away from the industrial area and a choice for a more peaceful and calm approach. Now housed in a beautiful old building with completely renovated interior the refined fashion collections are presented in their rightful place.
